Alexander County Gun Glub Logo

Alexander County Gun Club comprises three farms totaling 895 contiguous acres, over 600 acres of which we are capable of flooding with the use of 3 deep wells. Six hundred eighty acres are enrolled in the Wetlands Reserve Program and are managed entirely as moist soil units with roughly 30 acres of corn, millet and buckwheat food plots near our hunting pits.

Goose Hunters

We have spared no effort or expense in developing this farm to attract and hold ducks and geese.

The remaining 215 acres provide us with roughly 1.25 miles of frontage bordering the Horseshoe Lake Wildlife Refuge and are managed with an emphasis on attracting Canada geese. In the middle of this property we have set aside over 300 acres as a private refuge for waterfowl.

During the final days of last season we were holding tens of thousands of ducks, Canada geese and snow geese on our refuge.

Also on this property is a 30 acre tract of mature oak/hickory woods which will be flooded, which adds a bits of diversity to a truly unique property.

The club has 5 five-man pits, 8 three-man pits and 2 five-man blinds. We have unofficially divided the farm into several different 100+ acre "zones" and plan to not hunt any particular zone more than four times per week.

Ducks on a truckAdditionally, except for one distinct area in which we will allow some hunting past noon, all other areas will be cleared of hunters and equipment by 12:00 in order to allow the birds to return to feed, rest, and roost.

All hunts will include a professional guide with a thorough working knowledge of his profession and of the farm, who will be responsible for decoying the birds and calling the shots.
